    Josh Hochgesang has found his calling multiple times over his life and he has a strong commitment to each one of those callings. As a youth, Josh was a Scholar-Athlete. He grew up here in Fullerton, hitting baseballs and kicking soccer balls on the Little League and soccer fields that Fullerton children still play on today. His parents instilled in him a work ethic to be the best he could at what ever he was doing, and that helped foster a competitive drive on the field of play that Josh carries with him to this day. Josh grew up going to the local schools: Fern Drive Elementary, Parks Jr. High, and Sunny Hills High School. Due to his excellence both in the classroom & on the baseball field, Josh received a full scholarship to attend Stanford University and start at third base for the baseball team.

     Josh was selected 3 times in his life by a Major League Baseball Organization in the professional draft, but because of the value he placed on his education, he opted each time to continue going to school. He was drafted the first time by the New York Yankees after his senior year at Sunny Hills, the second time by the Florida Marlins after his junior season in college, and the last time by the Oakland A’s after graduating from Stanford University. Josh was just beginning his calling to be a professional baseball player for the Oakland A’s organization, but he was already well on his way to yet another calling…

     …to be a Husband. Since his senior year at Sunny Hill High School, Josh had been faithful and true to the love of his life, his high school sweetheart Mindie. Upon starting a new chapter in his life as pro ball player, Josh made sure Mindie knew his heart was committed to her and they got engaged just before he got on an airplane headed for Single-A in Medford, Oregon. Josh and Mindie married here in Fullerton, at Eastside Christian Church, which they are both members of and still attending today. Because of their shared old-fashion values, their wedding was very tradional. The Cinderalla reception was held in the large backyard of Mindie’s parents’ Fullerton residence.

     Josh & Mindie now live in a cozy home near downtown Fullerton. Both were raised here in Fullerton and have no desire to leave. They love their neighbors and the feel of the city, and besides, both sets of parents and several other family members live here -- so why go anywhere else?

     …Speaking of family, Josh & Mindie are now the proud parents of another beautiful baby girl... Naomi Noelle. Josh began his true calling as a father when he and his wife welcomed their first miracle-baby into the world when their beautiful daughter Faith was born. Josh is madly in love with both of his daughters and enjoys the new term of “Daddy’s Little GirlS.”
